Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
You are encouraged to call the office for hours of operation during the pandemic. Our team is working very hard to make sure all COVID-19 precautions are taken to protect your health and safety during your visit.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which often referred to as MRI, is a non-invasive, non-radiating diagnostic exam. Most exams are completed within 45 to 60 minutes. We work with the patient directly to accommodate their needs as much as possible. For example, patients can choose music, soft lighting, and images to be projected on a specially designed wall to create a calming landscape such as a beach or display colorful graphics. Tending to the patient’s needs during the exam is a top priority for our imaging staff.
You will be pre-screened prior to your exam to ensure the most beneficial and timely MRI study. The questions you will be asked are necessary to determine your MRI compatibility and clinical needs.
The large opening of our wide-bore MRI scanners comfortably accommodates a variety of patients. The wide-bore option often appeals to anxious patients, large patients (in some cases up to 550 lbs.), and for patients who desire more space. This unique scanner is also used to conduct MRI’s of the prostate to learn about abnormalities that a patient may have in their prostate area.
MRI exams include:
- Brain
- Spine
- Chest
- Extremities/Joints
- Abdomen/Pelvis
- Breast/Breast Biopsy
- Prostate
- MR Angiography
